This is a rare case when people who collect art and coins can invest money into both hobbies at once. In 2016 Tokelau issued an interesting set of three coins depicting the masterpiece of a famous Netherlandish painter, Hieronymus Bosch. He is considered a revolutionary artist of his time, producing work in his own autonomous style.

The obverse of all three coins has got a relief effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II and the emblem of Tokelau, which is a traditional tackle box commonly used by local fishermen. There are also inscriptions that stand for the Queen's name, the issuing country and the face value (1 x $2 and 2 x $1).

The reverse side of the coins possesses three full-color paintings replicating the Last Judgement Triptych by Bosch. Created after 1482, the three panels show a gradation in the severity of torments, from the left where events are portentous but not yet apocalyptic, to the right, where all hell breaks loose. The special thing about the triptych set is that each of the .999 silver coins has an unusual rectangular shape and the whole set comes in a prestigious wooden case.
