The Four Leaf Clover (Marsilea quadrifolia) is a semiaquatic plant species, occurring mainly in the riparian areas, and is currently in a critical and marked state of regression in Portugal, due to the alteration and destruction of its habitat. The coins dedicated to these endangered species will be coins in solidarity, as part of their revenue will be returned to an environmental fund designated by the Institute of Nature Conservation and Forestry.
