The first special 2 euro coin for Belgium 2018 is dedicated to 50 years of student revolt in May 1968. A still topical subject. It is also the first official 2 euro coin of Belgium minted in Utrecht. Since the start of 2018 all Belgian euro coins have been minted by the Royal Dutch Mint (KNM) on behalf of the Royal Mint of Belgium. This can be seen in the mint sign of the Staff of Mercury, which from now on is next to the mint master sign (coat of arms of the municipality of Herzele) of Mrs. Van Herzele, mintmaster of the KMB.
